Hi Guys - it's country time!
This lesson is for the advanced players who like country stuff and are looking for some new ideas with chicken picking (hybrid picking) or flat picking (alternate picking).
I made 12 country lick in 12 keys! So this also could be a challenge to use some uncommon keys like Ab, C# or F# for example. Because we guitar players usually like to play in the easier keys.
I uses some typical country techniques that is/are used by Albert lee, Steve Morse, Danny Gatton and Johnny Hiland.
Some licks sound more difficult as they really are and some sound easy but have some tricky fingerings.
Here are the 12 different licks of the lesson:
Lick 1 0:00-0:07
| C79 | % | % | & | Pause |
Lick 2 0:8-0:13
| F | % | % | & | Pause |
Lick 3 0:14-0:19
| Bb7 | % | % | & | Pause |
Lick41 0:20-0:25
| Eb79 | % | % | & | Pause |
Lick 5 0:26-0:31
| Ab | % | % | & | Pause |
Lick 6 0:32-0:37
| C#79 |% | % | & | Pause |
Lick 7 0:38-0:43
| F#79 | % | % | & | Pause |
Lick 8 0:44-0:49
| B79 | % | % | & | Pause |
Lick 9 0:50-0:55
| E79 | % | % | & | Pause |
Lick 10 0:56-1:01
| A | % | % | & | Pause |
Lick 11 1:02-1:07
| D7 | % | % | & | Pause |
Lick 12 1:08-1:13
| G | %% | % | & | Pause |
Start them really slow and incrase the tempo step by step until you feel comfortable with it! Then start to move them inside the beat and you'll get another interesting accent.
Have fun! ;-)
Final words
I tried to transcribe as close as possible. Specially in the Guitar Pro 5 you'll find all this little extras!
Cheers - Guido
