Hello GMC´ers! Today we will be studying one of the greatest modern guitar players of classical blues. He could be considered an "artistic son" of Steve Ray Vaughan. The sound, vibrato, and bending are all characteristics of these players, however the fundamental and most important to tell them apart, will be show in this lesson.
Using the pentatonic scale with melodic phrasing distinguishes the Kenny Wayne Shepherd style. The guitar solos compare to the best style of SRV, but it's the melody that makes the singer of the compositions by Wayne. I'll play in the classic style and mix it with bluesy work by the singer.
Chord Progression:
Cm7 – Fm7– D#7 - D7 – G7
Techniques:
* Legato
* Bending
* vibrato
* Alternate Picking
Scales:
C Minor Pentatonic + blue notes + 5º + 9º
If you have any questions:
* Give feedback (upper-right-corner)
