  • Hi GMC-ers!
This is a lesson on one of my favorite solos I've ever heard. The solo for "Tornado of souls" by Marty Friedman with the band Megadeth. This song is part of the album "Rust in peace" of 1990.

This solo combines many different techniques like:

    • Bending
    • Legato
    • Alternate picking
    • Sweep picking
    • Speed picking

What's amazing to me in this solo is the overall melodic direction. Marty is able to achieve using unorthodox playing and not really doing what's expected. I hope you enjoy this lesson, learn it and be able to play it! If you do, record yourself and let us see you! If you have any difficulty with any part, let me know and I'll help you, Rock it! Daniel

The Bb (in red) is the leading tone of the scale and is used at the beginning of the solo. But for the most part a natural B minor scale is used
The F (in red) is the Blue note
