  • Hello friends! Dallton Santos here.

    Today let´s focus on practice!

Picking exercises should be part of a practice routine for beginners and advanced guitarists.

It´s a pleasure to present to you this system that I have created to develop alternate picking. I'll be very honest, this was the best exercise for me. I started just for curiosity making combinations with the strings and the ideas began to appear, so I decided to work on it! Every guitarist should try this, it really improves the picking technique.

    Here we go!

First - you need to choose one combination of six numbers, from 1 to 6. There are 720 possibilities.
This combination will be the sequence of the strings.

    For exemple: 243165

This system will be divided in 4 modules.

Module 1: One note per string

Module 2: Two notes per string

Module 3: Three notes per string

Module 4: Four notes per string

Every module you will first practice only on open strings. After that, the right hand will go on the fretboard. So there are two exercises in each module.

You can schedule one hour in each module, or customize according to your time.
    Have fun and make progress!
