  • Hi GMC-ers! In this lesson I would like to show you some slide exercises which are often used by a lot of famous guitar players such as Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.

    The key is D minor and we'll use this scale in different position and at the slides we'll use the neighbor scales. The first part is at the fifth fret and starts with slided notes immediately. The first two sections are almot the same however at the end are they a bit different, where one uses the first slided theme and the other plays a C mixolydian and a D minor scale combination.

    The second part is at the tenth fret and there are some bluesy patterns on the similar way as Satriani plays them. At the end there is a melodic part with octave notes in which we'll use all the three scales.

    Techniques:
    * Bends
    * Slides
    * Hammer-ons
    * Pull-offs

    If you have any questions:
    * Give feedback (upper-right-corner)
    * My Personal Board
    * General Forum

    I hope it'll be a useful lesson!/ Laszlo
