  • Hello everyone! Today I´m bringing another hit by The Police: "I can't stand losing you" from the album "Outlandos d'Amor" (1979).

Basically it is a two guitar arrangement with some added guitar on specific parts.
There is a "improvisation" section (for the drummer) where the guitar makes the upper tensions of the harmony with a series of probably taped harmonics, and I did the trick with natural harmonics using a capo.

Guitar 1 is a clean guitar with some overdubbing, guitar 2 is a slightly distorted guitar, I put a very edgy guitar here so you can hear the notes well, the original is slightly masked in the mix.
Guitar 3 plays the muted strings strumming on chorus and the harmonics section with some chorus and delay.

The structure of the song is:

    Intro: 04 measures M. 01-04
    Verse: 08 measures M. 05-08
    Pre-chorus: 04 measures M. 13-16
    Chorus: 06 measures M. 17-22
    Bridge: 08 measures M. 23-30
    Verse 2: 08 measures M. 31-38
    Pre-chorus: 04 measures M. 39-42
    Chorus 2: 12 measures M. 43-54
    Impro section: 08 measures M. 55-62
    Verse 3: 08 measures M. 63-70
    Pre-chorus: 04 measures M. 71-74
    Chorus 3: 12 measures M. 75-86
    Coda-chorus 12 measures M. 87-98
