  • Hi GMC'ers! In this lesson I composed a tune inspired by ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man"! I transformed this song in order to capture the unique vibe of Billy Gibbon's fantastic guitar playing.

    I added a simplified bass line to the rhythm to give it an authentic feel. Later I realized that the base line sounds better if I play it with my thumb instead of the pick (personal preference). It then became a finger picking exercise to a cool song. You can also play this lesson using your pick too, so it can be a hybrid picking exercise also.
