But isn't the root E? So wouldn't it be correct to say you are playing E Phrygian Dominant, even if that has the same notes and is a mode of A harmonic minor?

Hi and welcome to this lesson! This lesson´s about rhythm and soloing. The harmonic minor scale is so popular. Used a lot by many guitar player as Y.M. just for name one. Something really interesting about this scale, from my point of view, is the fact you always can get a new sound for it.
In this lesson, I use the harmonic scale, trying to scape from its classic sound. So, I think you´ll find a lot of licks to learn and add to your own vocabulary. Also, you´ll find some notes off and some diminished arpeggios.
Take the lesson step by step and ask me if you need any help.
Used scales: A harmonic minor
Meter: 4/4 - 5/4
Guitar Tune: Down 1/2 step
TEMPO: 220 bpm
As some of you know, I use a POD xt to rec all my lessons. In my board you´ll find my presets ;) On the other hand, here´re the settings for people who want them.
