  • Hey GMC!
It's time for some blues phrasing today. I wrote this lesson jamming over a simple chord progression:

    E9+ G A

Here I'm using the default Guitar Pro notation. E9+ can be written also E7/#9 and it's better known as the "Hendrix chord". Jimi used this chord on his "Purple Haze" song and the progression above is the same of the song's verse. Maybe you can notice also some SRV influence here :D

Playing this style you can easily hear your real touch on guitar, since there are no ultra-gain sounds, tons of delay, distorted backing guitars and so on. You can't hide yourself here!

This is the setting for the Korg Pandora PX4D.

Dyna: HUM>SGL 9.7 (not necessary if you have already a single coil neck pickup)
    Amp: UK MDN - Gain 1.7 - Bass 7.7 - Treble 7.7 - Middle 5.3
    Cab: 4x12MDN - Value 5.3
    No Mods & Delay FXs
    Rev: Plate1 - Value 4.3
    NR: Value 3.0

    Guitar tuned down 1/2 step.

    Enjoy!
