  • Hi GMC! In this lesson we'll see a Brazilian kind of rhythm that is used in Bossa Nova and some styles from that country. The chord progression is: Cmaj7-Am7-Fmaj7-Em7(b5)-A7-Dm7-G7. Over this chord changes I've made two phrases with different rhythms to make it more interesting.

    There is one important thing to mention here, the bass line is always down beat. There are several ways to play this kind of rhythm but I picked the way Emily Remler does it. She stood that the bass never make syncopated rhythms.

    To add a little flavor I put into the backing track a Cow Bell, check that out!
