What an awesome composition David, beginning/main riff sounds a lot like "Tool", really good.
I always like your lessons. I'm oddly fascinated by your picking hand. The way you hold he way you hold the pick and how your thumb always seems to me moving seems very unique.
Very powerful, great work David!

How could anybody forget! Metalhead is a fantastic composition and a worthy GMC entrance for a super instructor
In today's lesson I decided to take you back to my very first lesson written for GMC. For those of you who remember, that lesson was called Metalhead and was designed to give you a few metal licks to use in your own compositions.
Today, we'll revisit that track and focus on some of the rhythm ideas used on the backing track. The key to playing this song correctly is to focus on a clean technique avoiding all unnecessary notes by muting the strings you don't need to hear. Watch your tempo and be aware of the rhythm placement used.
In order to giv a very metal flavor to this song, we'll use a Phrygian Dominant scale as shown below.
Keep everything tight and clean and have fun!
