In today's lesson, we'll use a very simple repetitive lick to create a complex sounding riff by repeating some of its notes. Start by getting comfortable with the basic riff using an alternate picking technique. Your tempo should be very precise in order to achieve the proper effect. Start with the slowest backing track to get warmed up and repeat it until you reach perfection.
The idea behind this lesson is to play the lick repeating its very last note the number of times written in the following guideline:
1-1-2-2-3-3-4-4
1-2-3-4-4-3-2-1
1-3-2-4-4-2-3-End
Once you get a hang of it, it's a matter of concentrating enough to make it to the end.
Practice well and try to use this concept next time you write!
