Hi folks!
Welcome to my Rockabilly lesson. Rockabilly is a hybrid of Blues and Country with melodic and rhythmic elements borrowed from Bebop and Western Swing music. It is characterized by up-tempo, mostly Major, Seventh and Ninth chords and walking bass-lines. Most Rockabilly guitarists employ some type of fingerpicking or fingerstyle playing.
The masters of this style are Chet Atkins and Merle Travis. This style basically involves playing a bass note, often the root or the fifth, underneath a chord or melody line. In this lesson I'm going to show you how to play some of classical rockabilly riffs, chords and some guitar boogie bass lines - so you have something to build upon.
