thanks mate
wow, this one sounds very good!
Thanks my friend
The best advice I can give you is to learn both scales well, and do them in boxes, one box on top of the other. I can recommend this lesson, it's not rockabilly it's blues, but it is about mixing the patterns and tips to do it properly. I'm currently doing part 2 where we will cover the major and minor scale boxes 2.
If you need any additional help PM me, and I will gladly help of course. Cheers
Awesome rockabilly lesson! Do you have any advice for smoothly switching between major and minor pentatonic scales?
Thanks man, I will make some more for sure, not sure exactly when since have lots of stuff recording atm, but rest assure it will be done. Thanks for your feedback, appreciate it

Very catchy lead Ivan and great sound as well!
Great job man. :-)
What is your PC configuration mate?
Probably a great lesson and of interest to me but I'm not too impressed with this new player. All that I have tried are very stuttered even after the whole video is played through once. Very hard to tell whats going on.
Any way to make these downloadable so they could be played locally instead of being streamed?
Thanks a lot guys.
@kivler
It's a Seymor Duncan lil'59 for the bridge. I staggered the pole pieces similar to single coils, and used a twangy preset in Gearbox.
Great solo Ivan. Really cool
nice twangy sound . what kind of bridge pup are you using? It looks like a minature humbucker
Great solo man! Now that's what Hillbilly rock is
Thanks guys
Extra one !!!
Amazing lesson mate.
I think soon this lesson will have no problems with playback, as I'm trying to make a smaller bitrate for everyone to see. Sorry for the big lesson guys, and have patience a day or two, the lesson will be viewable. Thanks.
Am I the only one that have problems with the new player? I'm sure that this lesson was a killer but for me it's just lagging so I can't enjoy it.

Hi guys, welcome to my first high resolution lesson here on GMC. This time we are going to do something happy and that is rockabilly style playing :)
Progression can vary, but you can use rock and roll type of progression, involving I, IV, V chords, and add some more in breaks or bridges. Everything is allowed basically, as long it is happy and groovy :)
With rockabilly style playing you can mix several different styles to create this groovy form of music! Blues, jazz and country licks are often used as a part of rockabilly soloing. To keep things simple, you can use C major pentatonics for country licks, anc C minor pentatonic fro bluesy licks. This is some form of generalized rule when it comes to playing these sorts of things, and I will try to show you how to use these different scales when playing this style.
As far as technique goes, bending, alternate, economy picking are good thing to use. Hybrid picking and fingerpicking as well is used a lot in rockabilly, but since fingerpicking is a bit specific technique, I will leave it for another series. For now we will do some classic hybrid picking licks that you can use in various situations.
Have fun with the lesson! :)
