  • Hi GMC!

I created this little etude to demonstrate how repetitions can be used in creative way, and how to arrange them and not sound repetitive. One way, is to create melody which repeats and to change only bass note, then, you can also make small variation in melody in next circle. In first part we have G in bass, then, in second part melody stays the same but bass changes to F. Next part of the composition is played in similar manner only this time we have modulation from G to F, and alight change of melody. We could have used the exact same melody from first part and piece would still have remained intersting. Try experimenting with this concepts with your own phrases and licks, by creating variation in bass line, melody and harmony.

    Regards!
