Hi Guys, Joe Kataldo here, in this lesson I'll show you how to combine sweep, alternate picking and seventh arpeggios to create monster licks
Sweeps & Picking over Diatonic Arpeggios
----------------------------------------
The musical study apply the same patter, sweeps+picking, to all the C major scale arpeggio shapes:
Cmaj7 - Dm7 - Em7 - Fmaj7 - G7 - Am7 - Bm7/5b
moving through modes diatonically from ionian to Locrian.
Techniques Focus
----------------
Three notes of the arpeggio are sweeped, 1st, 3rd and 5th, then the 7th, 6th and back to 5th are played with alternate picking starting with an upstroke and then ending with a down stroke to the next arpeggio root.
The so created patter moves smoothly from mode shape to mode up to the the fifteen fret.
