  • Hello GMC!
-In today's lesson we are going to harmonize the major scale using 7th chords. What this means is that we are going to build series of 7th chords starting on every degree (note) of the major scale. This is a follow up lesson to Harmonizing Major Scale previously published so make sure you complete that one first before learning this one...

-We are going to build chords like triads but this time we will include root, 3rd, 5th AND 7th. You will encounter 4 types of chords in this lesson. This knowledge will help you enhance your bass line composing skills!

-This is a theory based lesson, but you will also practice these techniques along with it: alternating finger picking, left hand fingering (one finger per fret) and dexterity.

-We are going to harmonize C major scale in this lesson.

    Key: C
    Tempo: 120 bpm
    Time signature: 4/4
    Tuning: standard
    Difficulty: beginner/intermediate

Equipment I've used for getting this sound was: Peavey Cirrus bass with active soapbar pickups, equal mix of both of them with added bass and treble on onboard eq - then going to the nemesis (eden) amp with a 1x15" and slightly added bass and treble there (at 1 o'clock position).

Feel free to ask me any questions in the lesson feedback and in my instructor board at forum.

Enjoy and I hope you'll have a lot of fun learning this one!
