Hello GMC!
-In today's lesson you going to learn the "Pachelbel's Canon in D". Its the most famous piece by Johann Pachelbel written in about 1680, during the Baroque period as a piece for three violins and basso continuo.
-I did my original arrangement of it and it's not the same as the original. I made a version for two bass guitars, one will play the rhythm and the other the solo and I will show you how to play both! You are going to apply many techniques in this one, like two handed tapping, legato slides, alternate fingerpicking, solo bass etc... It was very fun for me to make this arrangement and I haven't seen many bass versions out there so here it is!
-VIDEOS 1-6 will be about the "rhythm" part of this song.
-VIDEOS 7-12 will show you how to play the solo part.
So if you want just the solo or rhythm part to learn you can skip the other one. But I recommend you learning both parts..
-This one is as the name says in D major, so every note played will belong to that scale.
-Key: D
-Tempo: 160 bpm
-Time signature: 4/4
-Tuning: standard
-Difficulty: advanced
Equipment I've used for getting this sound was: Peavey Cirrus bass with active soapbar pickups, equal mix of both of them with added treble and middle on onboard eq - then going to the nemesis (eden) amp with a 1x15" and slightly added bass and treble there (at 1 o'clock position).
