awesome I hear improvement in my voice quality from practicing this lesson
Great lesson lu!!excellent!!
great advice!
Joe, keep at it, i thought i couldnt do it (in fact i didnt think i could sing either) and stopped trying for 20 yrs. At 42 years old i discovered i could sing and play guitar. Just picked some easy 3 chord song with a simple strum rythym and kept trying until i got it. I was so stoked when i got it i just moved from one song to another picking slightly trickier ones each time. Now i have a stack of them and am gradually building the confidence to sing in front of people (family and friends, still far from performing).
Anyway good luck with it.
aaaaa Why I can't sing and play Guitar arrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Helping me to warm up in the morning, great pitching.
It is natural that you can sing better when you are not playing the guitar, and that's because of the attention you are giving to your singing... So my advice is: practice singing and playing at the same time the more you can... try to make it naturally. You can start talking while you are playing...Always beggining with the easier part... so start talking and walking and playing you guitar. Do not sit down! because you don't do it when you are playing live!
good luck!
Luciana what do you recommend to us who play guitar and sing... it may be a tricky question but I heard people saying I sing better when I dont play and I agree but I still want to reach the vocal range and tones while I play.
Awesome. Today I found out that my singing kinda sucks, so I think I need to go trough all your lessons now! thanks for the lessons!
jreniel
yeah!... that's true!
This is very interesting, I had never really thought about it but it's quite amazing how resonance affects everything in the universe, even our singing voices!! This reminds me of the way monks chant mantras. Resonance is key to everything!!
Thanks lavendell for bringing this up and thanks Luciana for answering. I am going to experiemnt more with this when practcing singing!
Awesome lesson Luciana!
Marcus: that question is not weird... Actually it is more difficult to sing when you sit down and that's for the diaphragm. When we are sitting down we do not give it the major space in order that it spreads properly...Probably on having been a guitarist you have found the way of being relaxed and to give it enough space to the diaphragm though you are seated.
Excellent as always!
I've got a (weird) question for you
I find it a bit easier to sing if I sit down. Do you have any comments or thoughts about that?
-Marcus
