Hi GMC! This is the second lesson of the bebop lessons series to embellish arpeggios. In the previous lesson we've explored how to approximate every note of the arpeggio with a note a half-step below the chord tone. Here we'll see how to approximate a chord note from above.
There are two possible ways: a whole-step and a half-step. It's supposed to be a diatonic embellishment but you can also make it a little outside the scale. Some players like to use always a whole-step because is easier to play and it's a more dissonant sounding. In this lesson I use both but I tried to keep it closer to the scale most of the time.
The progression of the chords is the same of the last lesson: Am7- D7-9- Gmaj7 F#m7 B7 Emaj7 Ebm7 Ab7 C#m7 (Dbm7)- F#7 Bmaj7
