great lesson!!!!!
thanks Pavel
wow i suck at finger picking XD
i love finger pickin!
pff have to get used to handpicking i have the feeling my hand is like a wooden plank lol
Yep, thanks for a little lecture;)
You are right BUT as i mentioned in previous lesson, we don't have to strictly follow the theoretical basics and than we can get totally kick-ass sounding chords. In this case - the chord i play with E sound MUCH better than if we played it with G.
We can say it's a Cadd2 (C added 2) but again we only add it on B string. That's why i always say:
"Don't go for 100% theory, scales, diagrams and all the theoretical stuff. It is useful BUT it also prevents the imagination from working because you are concentrated on mathematics rather then sounding."
All the lessons i have written for GMC have some rule exceptions. I said Csus2 because it's the closest to Csus2 but there can always be some notes outside the chord but it doesn't mean it's mistake.
Music is not about rules - it's about how it sounds! I hope this answer will be good for you!
I'm a bit confused about the Csus2 chord. If I understand right, E should be replaced with D, but E is played in the Csus2, too. Why so?
E||--0--||
B||--3--||
G||--0--||
D||--2--||
A||--3--||
E||-----||
I thought the chord should look like
E||--3--||
B||--3--||
G||--0--||
D||--0--||
A||--3--||
E||-----||
Pavel, I would appreciate it if you help with it:)
Thanks for the lesson. The licks are very similar to a song I know so this lesson will not be hard to master Hopefuly
this is a cool lesson there is alot of times where this techinque works well. i found this lesson fairly easy beacuse for the first 2 years i played guitar, i never used a pick regardless of what i played. rob if you want a little extra challange with this one.. try using a pick, and using your middle ring and pinky fingers for the picking part.
None of these lessons are actually songs - my songs are more developed because i can repeat some verses and chords and all the stuff.... and for the lessons i try not to repeat the same parts so we can cover more things.
you can always tell the difference between something you had to write and something that time wrote the advanced chording lesson was magical and i wouldnt know where to begin with the compliments about that song. this on the other hand a good song but g d and a few other chords finger picked in my oppinion the key to classical music and fingerpicking is time never rush any creation of a song i personally feel like this was a bit rushed but it is just the basics as you said so what can you expect. great job i'll be waiting and watching for more fingerpicking/classical lessons
Hey Rob! Ofcourse more advanced lessons will be there - we just can't go onto the advanced stuff if we don't cover the basics so be patient! Not all members here know how to fingerpick so let's do it step-by-step.
Could you do a more intermediate/advanced fingerpicking lesson to? this was great, but I didn´t learn so much that I didn´t already know.
keep the good work up!
i liked it alot. Before my right hand placement was slighty wrong and this cleared things up
Great lesson. This was really useful.
Cool lesson. Nothing I didn't know but it was a cool tune. Will be sure to learn it once I come home from school
