Hard Rock Shred Solo

Hello Everyone! This lesson is another guitar solo from a composition I co-wrote with my brother. The music that we make together is mostly acoustic/soft rock, but every now and then we make a Hard Rock or heavy metal tune, this one was intended to be somewhat of a blend between hard rock you hear on the radio, with progressive rock.

It is in the D natural minor for the most part, but I do use introduce Db which is part of the D harmonic minor scale.

Here I am introducing something that I like to do a lot: stretching, ever since I started playing lead it was my goal to come up different patterns, of course there is a chance that someone has done it before (most likely someone has), this is kind of my variation from what I have seen from Paul Gilbert and Dimebag.

I also show a combination of a 3 string sweep picking arpeggio with alternate picking in between, kind of developing a little over the basic 3-string arpeggios made famous by Yngwie Malmsteen.

Finally we end up with alternate picking and chromatics a la John Petrucci.

I have provided backing tracks at 185, 170, 139, 92 and 46, at 46 it way to slow, but there it is in case you have any use for it.
