Without Jimi Hendrix, modern music would not be the same. He took the electric guitar to a new level and influence thousands of guitar players. In today's lesson we'll explore some of the elements that make him so special.

The backing track we'll play over will use 2 different keys. We'll start in Eb minor pentatonic, then modulate is F minor pentatonic. As for many other blues players, Hendrix tunes down a half step, but for convenience, we'll just play in he key of Eb without tuning down our guitar.

Make sure you are comfortable with the minor pentatonic positions provided and work your way through the licks understanding why they work. I wrote the 5 different positions of Eb minor pentatonic, but remember to use the same positions a whole step above for the modulation in F minor. Then, make them your own and use them in your personal music.

Have fun!
