Linking II (m7), V (7)& I (Maj7)

Hi GMC! Welcome to this new lesson! Today we return the work with the II, V, I sequence. We use the progression for an improvisation work. The progression is comes to the 5th circle but at the same time the chords arise to the major scale. This is the explanation to understand the IIm, the V7 and the Imaj7.

In this lesson I bring to you an exercise to practice improvisation, for that I recommend practicing very well the arpeggios for a better vision of the box in the neck.

The idea is to playing eight using the minors’ arpeggios, 7th arpeggios and major arpeggios, going to the one chord to other chord connecting with the note nearly.

When I play the IIm, in exercise I use the minor arpeggio (root, minor third, just fifth and minor seventh). When I use the V7, I play the 7th arpeggio (root, major third, just fifth and minor seventh), and when I play the Imaj7 I use the major arpeggio (root, major third, just fifth and major seventh).

Once you can play that, prove to play some phrases.

I recommend starting the exercise in different notes of the arpeggio!
