Heavy !
For the last bit with the Speed picking lick, when I see you playing it up to speed it looks to me like 1 continuous upward motion, like economy picking, I just needed a little clarification becuase i've noticed this alot with other guitarists and was wonding if it is straight-up Alternet picking motion.
Magnificent Lesson!
cool solo Pavel!!!!!!!
thanks
Thanks man! That's one of my favorite tricks to do with sweeping
hey great lesson i love the sweep taps you did in here they sound great
hahaha, I love it...to me, it sounds like The Offsrpring on speed
Great licks....it has that wierd tonality that songs like Pay the Man and Come Out and Play have
Thanks a bunch man! Don't worry, you'll be able to play like that - it's nothing special!
Is that real fingers or some mechanized version covered with flesh to resemble fingers ....... ??????????????
man u rock ........... thanks
but i dont think I will ever be able to play 10% like you
damn i cant get that last speed picking lick! just sounds horrible when i play it
I guess it is!
is that last part possible??? really is it???
im here 4 moths later
and now i can play this
many thx pavel
dang so hard to get up to speed
oh, i get it
thanks
1/4 -> 2x1/8 -> 4x1/16 -> 8x1/32
So, it's 8 32nd notes in 1 beat -> 32 notes per bar!
this lesson is awesome, the first lick is so cool
just a quick question, how many notes per beat are 32nd notes?
holy.... that was incredible! when im good enuf im learning that!
By feeling! No rule for this! Depends on what you play and how it is comfortable for you!
by da way in this video i notice u keep ur thumb on the top of the fretboard. wen r u sposed to put it at the top and wen r u suposed to keep in centre of the neck?
ok lookin at da guita pro tab nw tanx. its a great soundin lick by da way
@FretDancer: i am so sorry - i didn't notice your question a month ago
This is the part:
--------------------13h-17-18p-17-13----------------
--15-------------15------------------15-------------
--------------14------------------------14----------
-----------15------------------------------15-------
--------17------------------------------------17----
----------------------------------------------------
This is all one bar - first note is a quarter so it takes 1 beat, the whole sweep lick is 2 beats - because the notes are 6-tuplets - 12 notes mean 2 beats, and the last note is a quarter. Set the metronome pretty slowly and than speed it up gradually! Please ask if you need some more info! Sorry again for such a late answer!
@sillyman: the whole first part is one bar. So jsut listen to how i play it and try to fit it into one bar - 4 clicks!
If you use a Guitar Pro it would be much easier for you to read it! Maybe you could get it?
i think this myt be related to fret dancers question except that im busy on the first video. hw would u practise that piece to a metronome cuz it has alot of different notes (sixteenth , eight, eight and a half) any tips?
Exactly what i needed thanks!!
hey pavel, great lesson, im currently practicing the Sweep + Tapping lick in Video 2. I can play the lick pretty good, muting is great, but i cant play it at speed. So i decided to try with a metronome, but idk what metronome settings to use to start. Can you help me. Thanks in advance.
nice riff pavel
It's fast hammer-on and pull-off.
13(14) - you pick the 13th fret and then do fast hammer-on to 14th fret and than pull-off back to 13th.
I have no idea what tr is or how do to it=P anyone help?
Hi,
I'm practicing this bit, but I was wondering how most of you guys do the fast hammer-on/pull-off part.
The way I do it now is making a downward motion during the righthand pull-offs and and upward motion during the lefthand pull-offs.
Is that the way it should be done? To me it seems the easiest way to do it.
You're welcome m8!
That's why i loev 6-tuplets. You can play the song in a medium tempo but than hit some 6-tuplet runs in and it sounds very fast (actually it IS fast)
Hey Pavel how fast are you playing the pattern in video 6. Thanks for the awesome videos!
Thanks a lot guys!
Well, i will speak for myself - i am not a fan of Dimebag and that's why i don't think i would be able to create a good "in style of" lesson.
Amazing, dude!
But why can't anyone come up with some Dimebag Darrell-lessons?
But that was some great material, man!
Well, i just finished learning this solo in full, and i must say once more, this is a great F**KING Solo, keep up the superb work and great inspiration!
It means you play 6 notes per beat. So if you have 6 notes and the ----6---- above them it means you have to play all 6 notes on one metronome click (beat).
Pavel,
i had a question about the tabs. What does it mean when ---6---- is wrote above the tabs?Just wanted to make sure i know what that means. Thanks keep up the awesome guitar playing
Man thank you so much! That's a huge inspiration for me to read posts like that! Thanks!
And btw. i am not interested in adopting hahahaha
Holy F&*% Pavel,
Are you interested in adopting anyone because if you are pick me!!!!Dude that is some crazy S&*^ youre playing,as i said before man youre the greatest F^&*%$# guitar player I've ever seen KEEP IT COMING!!!!!!!!!!!YOU ROCK
Great lesson ,I love how you and william are coming out with more lessons. So far you have been my favorite to learn from. This one will take me some time. Thanks for another great lesson. Also maybe you could make a lesson on how to mute the other strings when playing solo's to keep it nice and clean sounding.I have a bit of trouble when trying to play some solo's without it sounding sloopy.A lesson where you are explaining how to play smooth with no extra noise would benifit a lot of us here i think.Hope you understand what im talking about. Thanks Shredmandan
It's not strictly defined - it changes through the lick. Part of it is played in the interval of 6th.
In the riff from video 5 what harmony do you use?
Honestly - i never listened to Iced Earth before!
i dont know why, but i see quite an iced earth influence in there, or atleast some cool stuff like IE Solo's
man that was awesome, especially the harmony part with the 2nd guitar... cool!
Great solo & technique Pavel!!
It means you play a trill, ex:
13(14) - it means you play a trill from 13th to 14th fret, you pick 13th, hammer-on 14th and pull-off from 14th to 13th fret.
what does the bracket( ) means ?
Pavel u are really super good,i am so glad to be learning from u
AWESOME !!!!! NOTHING MORE I CAN SAY
Wow pavel, another great job, and thanks for putting GP Tabs in, saveing me alot o time! i love your sound and style, keep up the grade a work!
Thanks a lot guys!
@jolke19 - you're right man! A trill IS a fast hammer-on and pull-off!
incredible lesson!
question
when you do a tril, it looks like your doing a verry fast hammer-on pullof. is this correct? cause i don't know that a trill is
man you are such an awsome guitarist
sweet lesson, although i cant play it.i will practice my speedpicking so i can try and learn this one.
God bless Pavel
That thing is a "finger accelerator" hahahaha
I like the parts where you show your fingers moving very slowly and clearly. That makes things easier to learn. The lessons on this site are unsurpassed in the known universe, IMHO. I still think that hole in the body of your guitar is a bottle opener.
Ooops - will be fixed! hehe It's funny how you check all the tabs 10 times and you still have some mistakes. Will be fixed in the afternoon.
Anyway i hope you'll like the lesson!
last note in the tab text is on the wrong string, Its in a minor and he does indeed end on A, but its marked as a D...just letting ya know.
amazing!!! Keep up the good work!
