Hello there GMC :) Welcome to pentatonic slide shifting exercises for beginners. Are you sometimes stuck in those pentatonic boxes? Don`t know how to connect them and move up and down the neck? Why not try legato slides?

Lets use some of the legato techniques to connect those boxes together. Here we have 4 exercises that go up and down the neck using G major( parallel E minor )pentatonic scale. Enjoy! :)

The most important thing is to carefully execute the slides. Practise them very slowly until you become very comfortable playing them fast. Executing them with the tip of your finger and landing exactly behind the fret is essential so keep it in mind.

Also if you wanna get the proper sound you must mute all the string that are not being played. All the adjacent strings must be muted combining left and right hand, expecially when you play with high gain settings. Have fun! :)
