Hello GMC! Today I recorded a lesson in the style of Queensrÿche. This one is one of the first progressive metal bands. They combined influences from bands like Pink Floyd, Genesis, Marrillion, Rush and King Crimson with the sound of metal bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. My favourite album is "Operation Mind crime" that is a conceptual masterpiece. Fates Warning was the other band that started with this style at the same time and then appeared Dream Theater influenced by both of them.
In this lesson I tried to compose a tune inspired in them using some of their most used guitar arrangements and licks. We’ll use techniques like palm muting, alternate picking, sweep picking, bending and vibrato.
