Hey there all you future 8-finger tappers :) Welcome to '8-Finger Tapping Basics - Exercise no.3'! This is a new set of exercises that will help you move your 8-finger tapping abillities a step further.
In this lesson we have three exercises: a), b) and c). The general rule is: when you make a) sound good, move on to b), and when b) is good, move on to c).
a) This one is the easiest of all three. We have hammer-ons and pull-offs, repeated on each fret before moving on to the next string.
b) Now things are becoming a bit harder - one single hammer-on and pull-off on each fret before moving to the next string, and so on.
c) Applying this pattern, you will practice your fingers to move non-linear, which is good if you wish to learn to control your finger movement even better.
As always, general rules for practicing apply here as well (low BMP when starting, gradually speeding up, make it sound as less sloppy as possible, etc.), but you should have one more thing in mind when practicing this, and that is to practice smart - concentrate on your tapping hand fingers, make them remember the location of every string, every fret, so you don't have to monitor them all the time. As we say here in Serbia, get familiar with them like you are familiar with your own pocket.
Exercise a): lesson parts 1, 2;
Exercise b): lesson parts 3, 4;
Exercise c): lesson parts 5, 6.
And that's all. Enjoy :)
