Great material Lucio - one can definitely hear the Vai and Van Halen influences!
Hi GMC! In this lesson I´ll show you one of my first songs. I wrote it when I was 15 yeras old. In that moment Steve Vai and Eddie Van Halen were my favourites guitarist. This song is called Sonando and was recorded by IRREAL, one of my rock bands.
It start whit a pedal note in A, alternated with this chords: D, Dmaj 7, C, Csus4, G and Gmaj 7.
The guitar solo beggins with a Dmaj7 arpeggio with the 8º and 7º played with tapping, then it repeats a similar pattern with the F chord. Then it plays a C Arpeggio finishing in a melody with tapping and legato in the D mayor scale. The next part is a beauty melody in the D mayor scale with some bends. Ending the solo with a pattern of legato in the A dorian scale.
Try to play it slowly and very clean, even in legatos and sweeps. You have to control the noise in your effects, if you play with them. I suggest you to practice without effects and a low distortion. Once you get the technics depurated, you can use more gain and add your effects. Thats when you have to start working on the control of the noise in your playing.
Let´s ROCK!!!
