Hi GMC!
This time we are going to have a Funk Workout, great to develop your funk feel, hands coordination, rhythm placement, loosen the right hand and so on!
There are 8 grooves to work on, more or less difficult and more or less musical...
Isolate each groove and work on it, play it with the backing track or a metronome during several minutes. This way you will also develop your endurance and you inner rhythm.
-Important-
As it is not the focus here, I didn't write the scratches / dead notes we may find in funk guitar.
So it's up to you to play all or just some scratches here and there, it could be a great help to isolate the 16ths and add some percussive sounds in the playing. Remember, your right hand is constantly moving in time with the music, up & down with the 16th note subdivision.
We are going to work with a groove in E, medium tempo - 90bpm - with a light swing feel.
Slow parts are played at 65bpm.
Gear used:
Suhr Classic T & Badger amp
Here's the one and only chord for this lesson, the famous E7/9!
