  • Hi folks here I am bringing a new challenge to you all!

It´s a Funk/Jazz-Fusion Style ala Greg Howe with a brazilian touch on it!

In this song I am having some variations of Dorian mode full of hybrid and legato techniques filled with some very tasty jazz phrasing specially when I play with alternated picking technique over the Dominant ( V ) moments of the song where I use the 7th mode of the Melodic Minor ( Alt 7) in the style of Charlie Parker which is my favorite jazz player.

I also would suggest you to check out some Brazilian guitar players of this kind of styles like Ricardo Silveira, Joao Castilho, Mozart Mello, Frank Solari, Kiko Loureiro, they all blend it to a kind of fusion with a Brazilian touch on it and its very interesting to see and listen to.

About the techniques, you will find challenges in legato techniques, two-hands ala Greg Howe specially when I use the chromatic notes working on a target point. I actually could develop a how to lesson on things like this, I kind of know a lot about it ...proudly speaking! The reason is I really love this stuff! :D

About the sound of my guitar:

Guys if you like the sound of the guitar in this song go ahead and download the TSE 808 2.0 light, it´s a green pedal based on Tube Screamer and It´s FREE, here is the link to download.

If you want use my settings here they are: Drive = 9:00 / Tone= 12:00/ Volume = 2:00, PS: I had to lower a bit the volume on the channel for these settings.

I also added the Two-Notes plugin called The Wall of Sounds III, I selected a Fender Cab which there is called BDelux 1X12 with a neumann version of condenser right in front of the amp.

    I also used a Delay from cubase like: 1/4 - Feedback = 11.0 - Mix= 11.5

    Gear:

Fender highway 1 (I was using all the time the bridge pickup which is a Seymour Duncan JB Jr).
    I-Mac 27
    Cubase 5
    Ez Drummer
    LoopMash from Cubase VST
