Hi GMC!
Welcome to this new lesson! In this one I'll share some classic hard blues licks inspired by the youtuber guitarist Laura Cox.
In this one you'll find 6 licks that combine different concepts, techniques, and patterns over the same chord progression (A5 - G - D5) in order to recreate his approach to improvisation. The key is A so I'll mostly use A minor pentatonic scale with some added chromatic notes.
Each lick introduces a new important aspect of his playing:
Lick 1: Hard Blues Phrasing. Use of chromatic notes.
Lick 2: Hard Blues Phrasing II. Bends and microbends.
Lick 3: Palm muted licks. Open strings ideas.
Lick 4: Double Stops. Hybrid Picking.
Lick 5: Blues licks. Using riffs for soloing.
Lick 6: Fast pentatonic patterns.
I've discovered her at Captain meets... youtube show. After watching her jams there and checked some other vids and songs I get inspired and these licks appeared. Laura's style is based on blues and hard work, and her phrases and licks are always energetic and tasty.
In this lesson, I've tried to recreate her soloing style while sharing with you some of her most used concepts and approaches to improvisation.

I used Fractal Ax8's Suhr Badger 30, Cubase 9.5 to record audio and midi and Groove Agent 5 for drums.
