  • Hi GMC!

In this lesson we are going to talk about the Mixolydian mode and some very useful tools to spice up your phrasing - the triads.

We are going to use all the triads from the G mixolydian mode or the C major scale. G mixolydian is the 5th mode from C major. We are going to use these triads to highlight the characteristic sounds of the mixolydian mode.

    The related diatonic triads :

    C / Dm / Em / F / G / Am / Bdim

As you notice, I also play here and there the G pentatonic minor/blues scale to add some bluesy flavours.

The backing track is built around a G7 vamp at 126 bpm.

    Gear used:

    Haar stratocaster
    Fender HotRod Deluxe amp
    Xotic BB preamp
