Pink Floyd Influences

Hi GMC-ers! In this new lesson you will learn some different exercises in the style of David Gilmour! He was the guitarist of the legendary band, Pink Floyd. His playing and guitar sound was extremely influential.

In the first part of the lesson we'll play some harmony from a simple A minor scale. We will utilize a handy trick by using the right hand to pick the strings in position closer to the bridge. It gives us a special sound to the same chords. This was used by many guitar players an mainly in the years 70's 80's.

The second part is the solo. First I play a slow melodic solo at the 12th fret, then at the 17th. At the end there are some very well-known bluesy pattern in Gilmour's style.
