Chowy's guitar madness knows no bounds !! :-D
Van't get enough of walking bass lines - it's such an effective way to sound like a whole band!
Pretty aggressive fingerpicking there, nice fingerings!
Yeah, I've been waiting for more Jazz stuff! This sure is some aggressive jazz playing, great lesson!
Hi my GMC friends! Today, we're practicing typical jazz, where the bass uses the famous "walking" technique, i.e. it marks the chord notes but when it gets to those notes it plays "passing notes" - thus creating little tensions that are great to explore.
I didn't do it with a harmonic sense, rather as an exercise to be able to manage this technique, by adding some ideas of mine. Try to play it slow at first until you assimilate the whole thing properly.
As it usually happens in my exercises, the guitar plays a rhythmical pattern which is always the same, while the drums and bass go off the pattern from time to time, making the song seem like it is about to collapse. Don't pay attention to that. Just let the movement flow without thinking too much.
