  • Hi GMC! I present you Bach two-voice invention on which I have been working last week. This lesson covers first, leading voice, the next will be second(piano in the actual backing track).

Technically, the piece isn’t particularly difficult to play, but musically it’s quite tricky. In the original piece, played on the piano there are two melodies played simultaneously, and that’s it. Adding drum parts or bass would completely destroy the piece, because the breaks are here very important. You don’t have some referent point on which you can orientate, so listen the second voice with attention.

When you learn the the piece from tab, play some time with metronome, to get some time feel, then turn it off, and play it with backing track. You will see that it will be difficult first, but that is the beautiful part, listening to backing track(second voice) there is a delay sensation, like you are playing with delay pedal, but that’s just Bach’s style of composing, get used to it.

    Regards!
