Hi GMC, welcome to Sarabande Theme lesson :)
This piece was composed by George Frideric Handel (1685 - 1759), a German Baroque composer who spent most of his life in England (born as George Frideric Händel). Sarabande is a slow dance in triple meter with the distinctive feature that the second and third beats of the measure are often tied, giving a distinctive rhythm of quarter and half notes in alternation. Sarabande was a common movement during the baroque period.
This is not a difficult piece to learn, but it is to master it. It has to sound compact and fluent while having a tricky chord changes, so it is a good exercise for that purpose. This piece is not played in strict tempo, but I suggest to practice it first with metronome.
