  • Hello GMC !

-In today's lesson we are going to learn "intervals".What is the interval ? Its a distance between two notes. All scales are composed of different intervals. How many times you heard terms like "Play major 3rd on top , add minor 7th there, give me perfect 5th " when you spoke to fellow musicians ? Lets learn and define them all.

-In this lesson you are going to learn interval shapes, and hear how they sound in combined together. We are going to learn them all having Major Scale on mind so if you don't know how major scale is constructed its good time to check out Andrew's Theory Lessons.

-Throughout video parts in this lesson you will learn all major scale intervals and gain knowledge how they can be modified. Also this lesson will help you improve your right hand alternating and string skipping technique!!

-It's important to gain knowledge of intervals because its a first step in any theory study.

    Key: D major
    Tempo: 120bpm
    Tuning: standard
    Difficulty: beginner/intermediate

Equipment I've used for getting this sound was: Peavey Cirrus bass with active soapbar pickups, equal mix of both of them with added bass and treble on onboard eq - then going to the nemesis (eden) amp with a 1x15" and slightly added bass and treble there (at 1 o'clock position).

Feel free to ask me any questions in the lesson feedback and in my instructor board at forum.

Enjoy and I hope you'll have a lot of fun memorizing shapes!
