  • Hello GMC! Welcome to my new lesson "In Style Of Serbia". In this lesson you are going to learn how to play a famous traditional dance called "Uzicko kolo". Its called after a city of Uzice (in which it originated) that is located in the center of Serbia. This is a group dance song without lyrics."Kolo" is a dance in which dancers form a circle and hold their hands together.

I made an arrangement of this song to be played on electric bass. Its line features strict rhythm locked with drums played in short notes and a sort of walking feel to it because its usually played on the upright bass.

Most of the notes in this bass line belong to G major scale with some added passing ones coming from chromatic scale.

    -Key: G
    -Tempo : 130 bpm
    -Time signature: 2/4
    -Difficulty: beginner

Equipment I used for getting this sound was : Peavey Cirrus bass with active soapbar pickups , equal mix of both of them with added bass and treble on onboard eq - then going to the nemesis(eden) amp with a 1x15" and slightly added bass and treble there (at 1 o'clock position)..

Feel free to ask me any questions in the lesson feedback and in the forum.

Enjoy and I hope you'll have a lot of fun grooving this one ;)
