well done man!
Perfect lesson to help my legato
hey pavel!!!
excellent, excellent, excellent!!!!
thanks
Perfect that works... thanks.
You always pick the first note of E string so when you pick you mute the B string with your right hand.
Hi Pavel,
I am having problems moving from B string to the E string. When my pinky is on the 7th fret (after hammering on) how do you get it off the string without it making any noise. I can do this if I lift off more slowly (as this deadens the string)but trying to keep the lick moving on at a pace I have to move my whole hand to the E string and this tends to ring the B string as if I am pulling off. Help please
That's because you didn't get legato down yet! It's difficult technique! Don't worry about that - just keep playing it like that and you'll get it!
pavel, i am having problems when hammering from the e string to the b string.i seem to slow down and lose a lot of the sound/sustain. is it because i am not hammering hard enough or am i doing something wrong?
Pavel.... i am left speechless by your skillz!
Well, legato is not only for 3 notes. Actually you can play it for as many notes as you like. Even for whole neck runs. It all depends on your left hand. If you can only make it sound good for 3 notes than you must spend many hours on legato to gain full controll of your left hand and get strenght in your fingers. As you said - legato is a serie of hammer-ons and pull-offs - number of notes is not defined. So use whereever you want! )
Sorry man but I dont understand your explanation for doing the legato.. I lose sustain when I hammer on and pull off for one entrie sequence..I also read that a legato is a hammer on and pull off for 3 notes. Care to explain?
Thanks man! Well actually i am working on my own record - it's gonna be "Symphonic Instrumental Shred Metal" kind of style hehe Will upload it when i am done!
You never cease to amaze me, i love your technique, and the stuff you put up here is really cool, i spent like 3 hours practicing your 5 string sweeps lessons untill i got it down and up to tempo, now thats what i usually always warm up with, the only thing you need to do is get in a studio and record some songs, i think you have got the potential.
Great stuff!... I've needed to improve my legato-abilities for quite some time...
