  • Hi GMC! We’ll continue working with triads but in this lesson is the turn of minor pentatonic scale and minor triads! The idea is to practice the five different minor pentatonic boxes. I recommend to recording a backing track with one chord played as a loop and then we´ll study the different shapes slowly like in the other lesson but now you have to pay attention at the minor pentatonic scale. Take your time and study all of them.

Once we have been playing every position for a long time we can play it in all the fret board. (We must take a lot of patience, take it easy!).

Now we can play the melody and improve using the minor pentatonic scale, first in one box, then in other and then using all the neck.

Secondly, now that you know very well all the shapes, it is a good exercise to play the melody combining the different shapes. Finally you can also harmonize the melody with minor triads.

This will be very hard but you can do it!

    Scale used: E pentatonic minor
