  • Hi GMC!

    Welcome to my new lesson. This is an exercise in which I'll show you how I play harmonics with the right hand slap technique.
    The complicated part here is to hit the note with the right hand thumb in order to produce the harmonics sound. It is done by hitting the string 12 frets above the note that you play with the left hand. We'll be also adding vibrato using the whammy bar.

    Music Style:
    Slap hard rock

    Tonality & Chords:
    E Major tonality

    Techniques:
    In this lesson I'm using slap, pop, left hand tapping, legato, harmonics, tremolo bar... I use the thumb finger to slap and middle finger to pop the notes.

    Sound:
    I used my ENGL Amp to record this lesson: overdrive channel, with a delay on the left channel. The guitar is a Parker Fly Deluxe Single II.

    Tuning:
    Standard: E-A-D-G-B-E

    Tempo:
    103 BPM

    Notation legend:
    S = Slap/Thumb
    P = Popping/Index Finger (I use middle)
    X = Dead note
    H = Left Hand Tapping
    + = Tapping
    ~ = vibrato
    s = slide
    w = whammy bar
