Hi GMC!
Triadic super...what?
Don't worry! The concept for this lesson is quite simple : how to enrich your phrasing with a simple concept?
Well, we are going to play some Major Triads (only Major shapes & inversions) over a minor vamp : C-7 vamp (Dorian mode).
The idea is to have the same and 'simple' major triad shape in combination with others tools as the minor pentatonic scale, the dorian mode...
Lots of things to experiment with! This will allow us to easily play some important enrichments or tensions of the chord.
To summarize: over the C-7 chord we are going to play the following major triads. You'll find the enrichments played in brackets.
D (9/#11/13) - A bit "outside" sounding because of the #11 (blue note)
Eb (m3/5/7)
F (11/13/R)
G (5/M7/9) - A bit "outside" sounding because of the M7
Bb (7/9/11)
B (M7/m3/#11) - The more "outside" because of the M7 & #11
You'll find more tips and explanations in each video section.
I hope this lesson will help you understand, use and apply all these concepts in your own playing.
Have fun and be creative!
