  • Hello GMC!
    - In todays lesson we are going to play some blues. This is a great style very fun to play on bass and its the one from which other styles evolved. We are going to learn some of classic licks common to this style of music. You are jamming with friends ? This is perfect type of bass line to play in that situation.

    - I composed this blues groove and tried to incorporate a lot of different licks in it..You will be using techniques like slides,hammer-ons and pull-offs,dead notes in this one.Its played with a shuffle feel to it.Want to make a songs sound bluesy ? Incorporate some of ideas from this lesson.

    - I used mainly scale of G mixolydian and C mixolidyan for composing this one..Its the perfect scale to use when playing blues on bass.

    -Key: G
    -Tempo: 90 bpm
    -Time signature: 4/4
    -Tuning : standard
    -Difficulty: beginner/intermediate

Equipment I used for getting this sound was: Peavey Cirrus bass with active soapbar pickups, equal mix of both of them with added treble and middle on onboard eq - then going to the nemesis(eden) amp with a 1x15" and slightly added bass and treble there (at 1 o'clock position).

Feel free to ask me any questions in the lesson feedback and in my instructor board at forum.

Enjoy and I hope you'll have a lot of fun playin' this one!
