Hello GMC!
-In today's lesson we are going to learn how to play chord shapes on a bass guitar! It's not very common to play chords on bass but it can be a very good tool in your bass playing arsenal. You are going to learn three note chords (triad) shapes for major, minor and diminished chords.
-In this lesson you will play a little rock n roll tune on bass holding chords exclusively. To make it more interesting I played this lesson in a slap style, leaving notes to ring out to big chord sound. So if you are into slapping this is a fun addition.
-This lesson will show you how to play major, minor and diminished chords shapes on bass, practice slap bass technique, develop left hand strength and dexterity.
-This lesson is in the key of C. Check out my "Harmonizing Major Scale" series to learn how to build chords in one key.
Key: C
Tempo: 120 bpm
Time signature: 4/4
Tuning: standard
Difficulty: intermediate
Equipment I've used for getting this sound was: Peavey Cirrus bass with active soapbar pickups, equal mix of both of them with added bass and treble on onboard eq - then going to the nemesis (eden) amp with a 1x15" and slightly added bass and treble there (at 1 o'clock position).
Feel free to ask me any questions in the lesson feedback and in my instructor board at forum.
Enjoy and I hope you'll have a lot of fun slapping this one!
