  • Hi guitar players!
Yet another lesson based on my instrumental solo project. I haven´t recorded anything but demos yet, except for a song called
"Caminando Sueños" ("Walking on Dreams"). As you know, Greg Howe is famous for playing lots of arpeggios in a non-traditional way. He is up for a more fusion kind of thing.

In this exercise I tried to recreate that: a D-Mixolydian idea also featuring the pentatonic scale with major 3rd. This means we can keep those addictive blues licks we love so much, but changing the 3rd note of the pentatonic scale. The main characteristic of Mixolydian scale is that even though it´s a major scale it has minor 7th. To recreate Greg´s style, we just have to add some hybrid picking, legato and bends. The whole idea is to create a melodic line with groovy bases that flows naturally as it goes.

Practice this lesson a lot! I´m sure it will be as useful for you as it was for me! I hope you rock to death with this and the rest of my exercises and that my explanations are useful.

    Enjoy it!
